Philippines airliner Cebu Pacific will launch a direct service between Manila and Melbourne, commencing on 14 August this year.
The flight will operate three times weekly, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with the Melbourne to Manila route taking off at 5:05pm for a 11:15pm arrival, and the Manila to Melbourne route taking off at 6:05am for a 3:50pm arrival.
The service will complement Cebu Pacific’s existing Sydney to Manila route, which launched in 2014.
John Eren, Minister for Tourism and Events of the Parliament of Victoria, Australia, said: “We’re thrilled to add more direct flights to Manila, opening up greater opportunities for Victorian jobs and businesses. Securing this new Cebu Pacific route means we’ll soon have 35 international airlines flying in and out of Melbourne Airport – and that’s great news for our airline industry and economy.”
Candice Iyog, Vice-President for Marketing and Distribution of Cebu Pacific, added: “We share the excitement of the Filipino community in Melbourne and Australian travelers who want to experience the Philippines.
“The launch of our service between Melbourne and Manila will give travelers from Australia seamless connections to other destinations in the Philippines at year-round low fares. This will enable Filipinos living in the Melbourne area to visit their families more often, and encourage more Australian tourists to spend their holidays in the Philippines.”
