IF you have not found a reason to visit Malaysia (to be more precise, Melaka) soon, here is a pretty good one.
Singapore-based developer Hatten Land Ltd will be working with resort operator Samsung C&T Corp and water slides designer and installer Polin Waterparks to build Splash World @ Harbour City.
Hatten Land managing director and executive chairman Datuk Colin Tan said the water theme park is a very important project which underscores the company’s commitment to the long-term development of the state.
“We are partnering world-renowned leaders in their respective fields – Samsung C&T Corporation and Polin Waterparks – to place Melaka on the world map as a must-visit destination. We are grateful to the government of Melaka and the Malaysian authorities for their support of this project,” he explained.

Tucked between two towers on the 14th-floor deck of Harbour City Mall in Melaka, the four-story waterpark spans 500,000 square feet and it will be the first theme park “in the sky” to offer an indoor and outdoor experience.
It will feature a whole kilometer of water slide as well as a man-made river that will meander over two floors to intertwine more than 50 attractions.
Among the attractions, catered to both children and adults, are a Sky Beach, a dedicated children’s water play park, and 11 extreme sliders for thrillseekers.

Come night time, Splash World @ Harbour City will light up as the Cosmic Waters light show illuminate the park accompanied by a water circus, trapeze stunts, and other entertainment in a special amphitheater.
Works are currently underway for Splash World @ Harbour Cost, which will cost an estimated RM200 million (US$48 million) to build.
Upon completion, it will accommodate up to 5,2000 visitors a day and is projected to attract an upwards of 850,000 million visitors annually after its first year of operations.

Aside from the water theme park, Harbour City also boasts of three hotel blocks (including a cruise-themed hotel) and The Harbour City Mall.
Located on a tropical man-made island, Harbour City Mall will house over 800 retail stores, featuring six different oceanic themes on different floors, from “The Trenches” to the “Coastal Layer”.
Splash World @ Harbour City is expected to be completed by end-2019 and open to the public in the first half of 2020.
Aside from Splash World @ Harbour City, Melaka is also home to Melaka Wonderland Theme Park & Resort and the A’Famosa Water Theme Park.
Other attractions in the state include the 16th-century Portuguese St. Paul’s Church, the Stadthuys, Christ Church, and A Famosa.
