Tanzania opened its first embassy in Israel recently. The Tanzanian Embassy was inaugurated in Ramat Gan, making Tanzania the 15th African state to open an embassy in Israel, and the fourth to open one in the last three years.
Augustine Mahiga, Foreign Minister of Tanzania said the launch of the embassy in the Middle Eastern land of Israel signifies the importance this African country attaches to its “renewed” friendship with the State of Israel.
Ayelet Shaked, Minister of Justice, Israel attended the inaugural of the Tanzanian Embassy cited that Israel was grateful to Tanzania for opening the embassy and hoped the new embassy will significantly mark an upgrade of Israeli-Tanzanian cooperation.
This move is seen as an improvement in the budding diplomatic relation between the two countries. Tanzania and Africa as a whole, welcome a high number of tourists as well as hotel investors from Israel.
