The email read:
“You must remove the Taiwanese flag from your service waistcoat and replace it with the Chinese flag. This must be followed by all Taiwanese crew without exception.”
However, following the backlash from staff, a correction email was sent out by the airline suggesting staff need not wear any flag pins.

“Please refrain from wearing your Taiwanese flags on flights until further notice. Therefore, no flag is required on your uniform.”

The report said disgruntled Taiwanese residents had called for a boycott of Emirates, while others blamed Beijing over the order.
