CHERRY POINT FARM AND MARKET IN SHELBY, Michigan is famous for their cherries, pies, breads, jams, fudge, and their popular summer fish boils. The loved-by-locals fruit and farm market has been around since 1961 and is currently run by the fourth generation of the founding family. In 2001, owner Barbara Bull started to ambitiously work on a lavender labyrinth.
With the help of artist and architect Conrad Heiderer, she designed an asymmetrical mandala-like flower maze with a large herb garden at its center. It takes about an hour to walk to the center.
The labyrinth’s French lavender peaks in the springtime and continues to bloom throughout the summer. In the fall, the flowers are collected and dried.
A trip into this labyrinth is free and doesn’t even require reservations, so when in Michigan, drop in and meander among the flowers whenever you like.
