After announcing its foray into New York City late last year, lifestyle hotel brand Selina is adding to its footprint in the Empire State with two additional projects, including one in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and another in Woodstock, N.Y.
Selina first announced that it would enter the New York market with an outpost in lower Manhattan at 138 Bowery. The 90-room hotel is scheduled to open this June, housing the brand’s signature mix of hotel accommodations, food and beverage outlets and a co-working component.
The upcoming Chelsea property will house a similar combination of amenities as well as a year-round rooftop venue. The 126-room hotel is scheduled to open this May.
The location in Woodstock will be located on a 6.5-acre site and is expected to open in August, ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival. The property will be positioned as a retreat for artists and creatives, offering guests access to its recording studio.
Launched in 2015, Selina is a millennial-focused brand that offers workspace for rent by the day, week or month in addition to overnight accommodations. The company has more than 30 outposts across Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Portugal.
On average, Selina rooms range from $15 per night for a shared accommodation to $300 for private suites.
Selina’s New York properties will be among the brand’s first in the U.S., joining an additional three under development in Miami. Selina intends to open more than 15 new locations in the U.S. this year.
