While it didn’t officially make TPG‘s list of underrated credit cards, the Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature is a card that doesn’t get a ton of love online, but has held a long-term spot in my own wallet (or, more accurately, sock drawer). Right now the Radisson Rewards Visa Signature is offering the largest welcome bonus I’ve ever seen — 100,000 total bonus points awarded in two tiers until Jan. 4.
The first 50,000 bonus points are awarded after the first purchase and the second 50,000 points are awarded if you spend $2,500 on the card within 90 days of account opening. TPG values Radisson Rewards points at 0.4 cents each, making 100k bonus points worth $400. That doesn’t sound overly impressive compared to some other offers out there. But, the reality is you can do well with your Radisson Rewards points in Europe, and specifically Scandinavia, where Radisson properties are more prevalent and a notch above what you often find in the United States.
We have enjoyed a ski trip using Radisson Rewards points to stay at the ski-in Radisson Blu Resort Trysil in Norway, along with Radisson award stays in Oslo, London, Edinburgh and beyond.
The Park Plaza Westminister Bridge near Big Ben in London can house a family of two adults and two children in a family room for 87,500 Radisson Rewards points per night. This is noteworthy, as family rooms bookable on points are a pretty rare unicorn in Europe.
Radisson Rewards can also be quite useful closer to home in New York City. The Cassa Hotel New York 45th Street has rooms available for 50,000 Radisson Rewards points per night even when paid rates are $400 – $500 per night on peak dates. A Radisson Blu Anaheim near Disneyland is also on the way in 2020.
Depending on where and how you travel, getting the Radisson Rewards Visa while the bonus is at 100k total points can be worth it for some families, but I keep the card long-term because of the 40,000 bonus points awarded at each renewal. Those who actively use the card can earn up to three E-Certs, one with each $10,000 in spending put on the card each year. Note that those E-Certs are only valid within the United States.
If you want in on the Radisson Rewards Visa Signature‘s increased 100,000-point bonus, be sure to act by Jan. 4 as the regular bonus is typically just 85,000 total points. You can also check out these other cards also offering 100,000+ bonus points.
