THAILAND continues to lead the MICE race in Southeast Asia by promoting its special lane for MICE travelers at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
TCEB acting president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya said, “Our ‘MICE Lane’ project at Suvarnabhumi International Airport has been implemented for nearly five years, and facilitates international MICE travelers.”
The lane allows travelers to clear immigration faster using premium lanes, attain visa-on-arrival benefits, and request special signage to assist delegates.
Immigration bureau commissioner Nathathorn Prousoontorn also iterated his support for the lane.
“By coordinating a pre-approval process and with dedicated representatives at the premium lanes, MICE travelers are able to save time and feel at ease throughout the process,” he said.
Since it was introduced in 2012, the lane has seen over 80,000 travelers through fast-track services, with 94 percent of them satisfied with the airport.
A report released in May detailing Thailand’s lucrative MICE industry forecasts the kingdom will ring in up to US$4 billion in revenues and 1.3 million MICE travelers by 2020.
Thailand is continually prevalent as a MICE destination because of its reliable infrastructure, international connectivity, developed transportation, widespread luxury offerings in accommodation and hospitality, well-trained private sector, and sound regulations that control the industry.
