Travellers from across the globe show, that while quality is important, price is definitely a major consideration when booking accommodation in Rio this August. 41% of travellers opt for 3-star accommodation while 35% choose to stay in 4-stars hotels. Hoteliers are clearly pumping up their prices during the sports event of the year, with hotels in the 3- and 4-star hotel category costing an average of S$286 per night during the first week, S$437 during the second, S$530 during the third and Scopy39 during the last week of August. With the low hotel prices in the fourth week, Singaporeans may even consider extending their Rio trip for a holiday after the event.
