JetBlue will double its service to Atlanta next winter.
Beginning March 8, the carrier will fly twice daily from Fort Lauderdale and New York Kennedy to Atlanta, which is the world’s busiest airport. JetBlue will also fly daily between Orlando and Atlanta. Tickets went on sale Thursday.
The three routes will follow JetBlue’s reintroduction of service to Atlanta this past March when it began flying five times per day between the Georgia capital and Boston. JetBlue briefly flew from Long Beach and Oakland to Atlanta in 2003.
JetBlue will join Delta, Southwest and Spirit in the Atlanta-Fort Lauderdale market. It will compete against Delta, Frontier, Southwest and Spirit in the crowded Atlanta-Orlando market. JetBlue will go against Atlanta hub operator Delta on the JFK route.
