TO add another feather in his cap, legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld will launch a line of hospitality brands comprising of hotel, restaurant and nightclub chains.
Pierpaolo Righi, president and chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, said the push into hotels reflects a wish to “broaden Karl Lagerfeld’s comprehensive lifestyle experience.”
The first of the hotels will launch in Macau next year, a “six-star” 20-storey resort located in the Lisboa Palace luxury development.
On the hospitality line, the brand’s official site says that guests will have the chance to “experience the world through Karl’s lenses”, and that the properties will debut in “key cities and resort destinations worldwide”.
The man is not new to the world of hospitality – in the past, he designed the poolscape at the Hotel Metropole in Monte Carlo, consulted on Sofitel So Singapore, and designed some of the suites at Paris’s Hotel de Crillon.
Vogue reported that Lagerfeld is a self-professed lover of hotel rooms owing to his busy schedule around the globe. He also quoted The Mercer in New York City as his favorite place to stay.
