Hong Kong’s Old Town Central area is getting the help of a family of adorable dogs as local authorities look to draw visitors to the new tourism district.
Meet Mini, Mochi, Yakult, Toro and Yobi – residents of the Central-Sheung Wan district of over seven years who have now become stars in their own right. And thanks to lovable characters, the pack of dogs has gained themselves over 10,000 followers on social media.
The doggos are featured in a five-minute long promotional video produced by the board and will take on the role of photographers to showcase a canine’s perspective of the district, Travel Daily Media reported.

With high-definition action cameras attached to their tails, the five had snapped over 400 photographs by wagging their tails at various sites in the district, depicting its culture, history, art, food and more.
HKTB UK and Northern Europe director Dawn Page said this was among the board’s ways of using creative and fun ways to promote Hong Kong’s lifestyle and culture – by enlisting the help of the Old Town Central’s favorite family.
“We feel this is a unique way to showcase this vibrant and diverse district.”
Videos and photographs of the dogs’ adventures are available across a myriad of platforms including the HKTB website, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
On top of that, canine-themed QR codes were also available throughout hotspots in Old Town Central for visitors to learn more about the district.
