Last January, Hilton revamped its co-brand card line up after signing on with American Express to run its card portfolio. And the hotel chain’s just announced it will increase the welcome bonuses on all of its cards for a limited time.
Currently, the new offers are only available to Hilton Honors members, but starting September 11, the increased bonuses will be open to the general public.
Here are the elevated welcome bonuses:
- Hilton Honors American Express Card: Earn 75,000 points after spending $1,000 in the first 3 months
- Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card: Earn 125,000 points after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: Earn 150,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months
- Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: Earn 125,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months
Although we’ve seen similar bonuses on the Hilton Honors American Express Card, Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card and Hilton Honors American Express Business Card, this will be the highest-ever bonus for the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card.
Those 150,000 points are worth $900 according to TPG’s latest valuations. The Aspire is Hilton’s premium card, and while it does have a $450 annual fee, it features $250 in annual resort credits, $250 toward airline incidentals, complimentary Hilton Diamond status (the chain’s highest elite level) and more. You’ll easily net a lot of points purely through spend too — the Aspire earns 14x points at Hilton properties; 7x points on flights booked directly with the airline or through Amex Travel, on car rentals booked directly with select car rental companies and at US restaurants; and 3x points on everything else.
If you’re averse to a high annual fee card, the Ascend is a great option that will offer 125,000 points after just $2,000 of spend in three months. The $95 annual fee card comes with benefits like 10 visits to Priority Pass lounges and a free weekend night award at any Hilton property after your first anniversary of cardmembership.
Hilton increased value proposition of becoming a Hilton cardholder when it relaunched the cards, but these higher bonuses make them even more enticing. If you consider the bonus points the cards earn when used at a Hilton property, the elite bonus points you earn because of the card’s complimentary elite status and the routine points promos the chain offers — you could potentially be rolling in Hilton points after just a few months. Aspire cardholders can earn a whopping 54 points per dollar when staying at select Hilton resorts when stacking those three deals.
Make sure to mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 11 if you’re interested in taking advantage of the highest welcome bonus ever.
