EMIRATES has launched virtual reality (VR) technology on its website to give customers a three-dimensional (3D), 360-degree view of its aircraft’s interior.
The 3D seat model is a visualization engine displaying every cabin inside Emirates’ A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
Flyers will now be able to see their seat before flying and those in economy class can explore the most luxurious business and first class cabins in the aviation industry.
For those in economy class, the prospect of an onboard shower and R&R in the onboard lounge seems a million miles away, but with this VR technology, they can explore these exclusive amenities from the comfort of their homes.
“As we continually invest to provide our customers with an unmatched travel experience onboard and on the ground, we also work very hard to give our customers a world-class digital experience,” Emirates Corporate Communications Marketing and Brand (Digital) Senior Vice President Alex Knigge said.
The new technology also allows passengers to choose a specific seat and not just go off the generic template.
The technology is compatible with all devices without the need for external applications or plugins and works with even the most simplistic VR headset, such as Google Cardboard.
The VR images are incredibly clear but don’t just take it from us, see for yourself.
