EMIRATES was crowned the world’s best airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards for the fourth time in the last 15 years.
Emirates president Tim Clark said in a statement, “The fact that these awards are based on the direct feedback from passengers is gratifying and wonderful recognition for all of the hard work that’s gone into creating the Emirates experience.”
On top of that, the airline also bagged the title of best in-flight entertainment. Emirates is the world’s largest international airline with a fleet of 250 wide-body aircrafts. It’s also the world’s largest operator of the Boeing 777 and the Airbus A380 superjumbo.
In second place is Qatar Airways that has seen its net income quadrupled to US$439 million in the last 12 months, as well as strong demands from China.
Singapore Airlines was voted the best airline in Asia as well as the title for best business class airline seats
Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines is the highest rated Asian airline in third place, sliding down from second place last year. The carrier also snagged the title for best business class airline seat.

The global ranking is jarringly absent of American airlines; the best performing North American carrier is Porter Airlines in 47th place.
