Accor Hospitality has unveiled the Eco-Lodge Innovation Hub by Mantis at the Africa Hotel Investment Forum, which took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from September 23-25.
The new concept will be launched early next year at the five-star Mantis Founders Lodge in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, and will bring together conservation partners from across the globe to showcase the future of eco-travel to potential investors and sustainability-minded travellers.
The collaboration will see Mantis build five new room models, known as ‘Innovate Hospitality Units’, near the existing lodge.
The units will consist of two tents, a pod, a log cabin and a treehouse, which integrate the latest green technology on a site designed to showcase low-impact accommodation and activities to business leaders and future travellers. The rooms will vary in design, look, feel and décor, and will house the latest green technology.
The Hub will showcase new boma designs, game-viewing hides, open-air cinema concepts and electric game-viewing vehicles. The new designs will be coupled with Big-Five safaris, wellness experiences, and immersive family offerings.
