With bad news constantly filling our news feeds, it’s heartening to hear about companies that are stepping up to make a difference. Citi is doing just that by launching a new program and donating $1 for every $5 spent at restaurants between now and December 1, 2016, to No Kid Hungry, an organization that fights children’s hunger.
No Kid Hungry is part of Share Our Strength — a qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By sourcing food at low costs from its partners, the organization is able to provide 10 meals for every $1 donated. This means that if Citi cardholders spend $5 million at restaurants over the next five months, the maximum $1 million donation can provide 10 million meals to needy children.
The terms and conditions of the Citi promotion note that this offer is only available for Citi and CitiBusiness credit cards. To be sure, we tried registering a Citi debit card, but the registration was rejected. However, we were able to successfully register the following cards:
In case you needed an extra excuse to get one of these excellent cards, you still have plenty of time to sign up and meet the minimum spending requirement while dining out for a good cause!
