Delta is offering a two-day sale on premium awards to Europe. Starting at 99,000 SkyMiles round-trip, you can fly in Delta One from the continental US to Europe for travel between March 1 and June 30, 2017. Note that because it is a flash sale, you must book by tomorrow, November 16, at 11:59pm ET.
Highlighted destinations include London (LHR), Manchester (MAN), Zurich (ZRH), Brussels (BRU), Dusseldorf (DUS), Frankfurt (FRA) and Paris (CDG), though the Delta promotion page notes that there are more destinations included in this sale. If you’re looking to travel to a city that’s not listed, try searching to see if it’s included. To be eligible for these discounted fares, you must book through Delta’s website, and you must book round-trip travel.
Here are some examples of what you can book with this sale:
Newark (EWR) to Paris (CDG) for 99,000 miles round-trip in March:
You can book a round-trip flight in Delta One from Newark (EWR) to Paris (CDG) for 99,000 miles + $124. Based on TPG’s most recent valuations, this redemption is worth $1,188 (before taxes and fees). For these same dates, you can book that same itinerary for $3,300, so you’d be getting a pretty good value out of your miles in this scenario.
Atlanta (ATL) to London (LHR) for 99,000 miles round-trip in May:
You can book a round-trip flight between Delta’s hub in Atlanta and London for 99,000 miles + $263 round-trip in May. For these same dates in the same cabin, a round-trip flight would cost you $3,786.
Chicago (ORD) to Frankfurt (FRA) for 99,000 miles round-trip in March:
Book a round-trip flight between Chicago (ORD) and Frankfurt (FRA) in March for 99,000 miles + $119. This same itinerary would cost you $4,328, again making for a good use of your SkyMiles.
Note that Delta doesn’t publish an award chart, so there’s no knowing exactly how great of a deal this is compared to the usual mileage rates. That said, flying in Delta One from the US to Europe for less than 100,000 miles round-trip is a pretty solid option — especially during some months of the peak summer travel season. If you’ve been debating a trip to Europe, this could be a great use of your SkyMiles in order to get there comfortably — book soon, though, as this sale is only good through tomorrow night.
If you don’t have enough SkyMiles but are looking to get some to take advantage of another award sale like this, consider signing up for the Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card. The card comes with a sign-up bonus of 35,000 miles and 5,000 MQMs after you spend $1,000 in the first three months. You’ll also get a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase within the first three months.
