Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
The all-business-class French carrier La Compagnie is holding a “French Summer” sale with fares from Newark (EWR) to Paris (CDG) from $1,298 round-trip. Although the sale is labeled as a summer deal, we’re seeing these discounted fares into the winter — in fact, almost until the end of the year. This is a pretty great deal, as it’s during the peak summer travel months (and beyond) and in business class. Around this same time, nonstop business-class fares on other carriers seem to hover around the $7,000 mark.
Availability is wide open for most of the rest of the year. As part of this sale, La Compagnie says it’s only offering 1,000 tickets at these discounted prices, so act quick before they’re gone. TPG flew the carrier a couple of years ago and had a good experience in its business-class cabin.
