American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Margaret Bowler as director, global hotel strategy.
In this newly created London-based role, Bowler will report to Wes Bergstrom, vice president, hotel strategy.
Bowler has extensive experience in senior and leadership roles in the hotel and travel management sectors, including more than 18 years at Hogg Robinson Group, where she served as global director of hotel relations.
Hogg Robinson was Hogg Robinson Group by American Express Global Business Travel in July last year.

Bowler will lead the development of a new American Express Global Business Travel hotel value proposition and content strategy.
Bergstrom said: “Margaret’s reputation in the global hotel space is widely respected, and she brings her knowledge and experience to this role at what is an exciting time for the acceleration of our hotel strategy.”
Bowler will manage collaboration across product and technology teams with the goal of further enhancing American Express Global Business Travel’s hotel capabilities and solutions for clients, travellers and suppliers.
Bowler added: “I’m looking forward to discovering what we can achieve with this great team, our partners and a forward-thinking hotel strategy roadmap.
