Botswana’s ant-poaching efforts have been bolstered with Bat Hawk light surveillance aircraft.
Last month, Botswana took delivery of 14 Bat Hawk light surveillance aircraft, which will be used in anti-poaching patrols to protect elephants and other endangered animal species, Defence Web reports.
According to the report, Brigadier Benjamin Masunga of the Botswana Defence Force, said the government wanted to send a clear message that it remained committed to the fight against poaching to protect elephants, rhinos and other critically endangered animal species.
Moreover, he said by vigorously fighting poaching, the government wanted to ensure that the country retained its status as one of the world’s top safari and tourism destinations.
