They are also banning any products containing ingredients that have been tested on animals, thanks in part to the insistence of community groups such as the #BeCrueltyFree campaign.
Enthusiastic support for this measure didn’t just come from the government. A recent poll from 2013 says that 85% of Australians oppose animal testing.
In addition to the European Union, New Zealand, Israel, Norway, and Turkey have all passed similar measures to cut down on animal testing.
