Great news, Delta fliers with American Express cards: There’s a new Amex Offer for the chance to get up to 20% cash back on your upcoming Delta flight purchases.
If you aren’t already familiar with Amex Offers, they’re opt-in, limited-time deals specifically for American Express cardholders, such as 15% cashback on Starbucks purchases, 2,000 bonus Membership Rewards points for spending $50+ with Amazon, 5,000 bonus points for spending $250+ at Saks Fifth Avenue and more.
The latest offer is for Delta purchases, offering a $60 statement credit for spending $300 or more on “one or more transactions direct with Delta Air Lines:”
Don’t worry if your flight is under $300 — you can make multiple purchases between the time you enroll in the offer and July 8, and they will all count toward the $300 spending threshold. Note that purchases do have to be made “through US delta.com, via Fly Delta US App, and US reservation telephone line” and flights must originate in the US — including US territories — to count.
Remember that Amex Offers are targeted, so not every American Express card will be included in this promotion. In order to see if you’ve been targeted — and to enroll in the offer — log in to your AmericanExpress.com account. Scroll down to the “Amex Offers and Benefits” section. (You may need to click “Load More” to see the offer.)
Personally, I only found this offer on my Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN. Hopefully you’ll have better luck. Remember, that if you have multiple cards linked under the same username/password, note that there’s a limit of one registration per Amex Offer, per username/password. So, choose wisely if you have multiple targeted cards under a single login (or try using multiple private browsers or moving cards to separate logins).
This great deal also serves as a reminder to check the entire list of Amex Offers in your account for rebates and extra point-earning opportunities on many general purchases, as well as cash back on travel purchases charged to your Amex.
