GBT acquired the company from Finnair; it had been part of GBT’s Travel Partner Network for 27 years.
SMT was formed three years ago by the merger of Finland’s two largest corporate agencies, Area Travel Agency and Finland Travel Bureau.
Managing director Kirsi Paakkari will continue to manage SMT after the closing, according to GBT.
“SMT’s main strategic objective is to be the leading provider of corporate travel services and meetings and events in Finland,” Paakkari said in a statement. “Joining GBT will accelerate our progress toward that objective.”
