Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
Wow Air has finally delivered on its promise of bringing $69 flights to the US. On limited dates from January through April 2017, you can score round-trip flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to some of the carrier’s European destinations for under $200. The cheapest fare we’ve found is $164 round-trip between Los Angeles (LAX) and Copenhagen (CPH), which is incredibly low for a West Coast to Europe flight, and one of the lowest transcontinental fares we’ve ever seen. If you’re based on the East Coast, there are some cheap flights to be had as well from cities such as Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA) and Newark (EWR), but at slightly higher prices.
Wow Air is a budget airline so you’ll be paying extra fees if you want to choose your seat or check a bag, but we’ve had good experiences with Wow. If you’re using Google Flights to find your desired itinerary, you’ll probably have to take advantage of the separate tickets feature in order to find the cheapest prices.
