Nearly two years after its Broadway debut, Hamilton remains the most sought-after show in the biz. Tickets are nearly impossible to come by, unless of course you’re willing to pay a significant premium on resale sites. There is one exception, though — last June, Amex was selling face-value tickets for several performances, and it looks like the issuer’s at it again, this time offering up tickets to two shows in Chicago.
Face-value tickets are currently available to Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders for two performances, both at the PrivateBank Theater in Chicago:
- 8pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017
- 8pm on Saturday, February 25, 2017
Apparently tickets have not been on sale for these two performances until today — currently, some tickets are available for as little as $85 (according to this Reddit thread), though our own Richard Kerr scored center orchestra seats for $180 each. Platinum and Centurion cardholders can purchase up to four tickets each.
Call the number on the back of your card to make your purchase. There’s reportedly now a 30-minute wait to get through, but given the amazing rates it’s probably worth the effort. If you’ve decided to take the plunge, be sure to check out this theater chart before committing to see which seats you might want to avoid.
Note that resale tickets are not available for these shows — it’s possible that you won’t be able to list them for sale, either, given that it’s labeled as a “private event.”
