According to the ACI Europe, there is a sharp nine percent increase in the air passengers as per the initial reports of first quarter of 2017.
Such a massive growth in air traveler numbers is the best half-year performance in over a decade since it had seen passenger numbers growing by nearly 30% since the past few years.
Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Portugal, Malta and Cyprus all witnessed double-digit growth. The European aviation industry has witnessed have a growth of 9.9% as against 8.7% in the European markets outside the European Union.
London Heathrow, one of Europe’s busiest airport, recorded an increase of 3.9% travellers, followed by 8.7% by Amsterdam Schiphol, while Paris Charles de Gaulle saw 5.2% growth and Frankfurt 4.5% in the first quarter of 2017.
ACI-Europe has said that the growth statistic portray the efficiency of airlines, low cost and full service as well as on time scheduled and charter flights.
“The current growth in the European airline passengers reflects the best ever first half-year performance in over 10 years and marks a significant growth,” remarked Director General of ACI Europe Oliver Jankovec.
