ACCORHOTELS launched its Novotel brand in the Chinese city of Xi’an with the aim of pulling in business travelers and delegates for meetings, incentive groups and product launches.
Novotel Xi’an SCPG Hotel has four meeting rooms with a capacity of up to 110 people. Some of the features in the rooms include high-speed WiFi, computer hire services, porter services, conferencing facilities, a podium, video equipment and an overhead projector.
Plus, the rooms are designed with a “crab” set-up, ideal for meetings with audio-visual presentations as it allows the speaker to move among the participants and make visual contact with them.
According to Accor spokesman Kelly Chen, the hotel has secured pharmaceutical, automobile and cosmetics industry meetings for between 20 to 80 participants since its opening last month.
Executives can also apply as a member of Accor’s Le Club Accorhotels Meeting Planner, a schemes and rewards program where they can get meetings and professional events organized, reap loyalty points, and enjoy privileged reception and personalized service.
Xi’an is also the host of the annual Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE), an international tourism event with participation from some 38 countries and 150 exhibitors. The event will see 20,000 products on sale.
