What to do with that stinky sargassum?

Just returned from Belize. It was a wonderful visit, despite the sargassum invasion, and we especially enjoyed the fantastic snorkeling. But to say a few hours of raking takes care of the problem each day does not reflect the reality of my experience, where I stayed. Multiple men working 12-hour days cannot stay on top of the Sisyphus-type task. We’ve got a major problem on our hands on many Caribbean beaches and even into Texas. It flows with the destabilized ocean currents, fueled by the climate crisis. That said, these countries need our tourism dollars to help them find ways to adapt, and we need to end our addiction to fossil fuels.
