The delegation said that they are committed to developing a state-of-the-art medical facility, a grand prix circuit, and a hotel in Victoria Falls.
The investors from the UAE, who arrived in the country on Monday (May 28), visited Zimbabwe’s premier tourist destination to scout for opportunities under the special economic zones (SEZ), and to engage with relevant stakeholders.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) Chief Executive, Karikoga Kaseke, says the tourism industry is looking forward to the implementation of the projects, which will transform the resort town into a competitive tourism destination.
“We met them in Dubai and they are here to scout for investment opportunities. They have expressed interest in developing a state-of-the-art hospital, grand prix circuit and a hotel,” said Kaseke.
Victoria Falls Town Clerk, Ronnie Dube said: “The town has the potential to be a leading tourism destination in the world, and we are excited about the renewed confidence in the destination since the new political dispensation.”
Dube went on to mention that the municipality is looking forward to the implementation of the proposed projects by the UAE investors.
Victoria Falls was designated a SEZ focusing on tourism and financial services.
According to the ZTA, many international investors have expressed an interest in exploring the investment opportunities under the SEZ, with many observers confident that the resort town will emerge as a preferred tourism destination.
