RUN, you must. Die-hard Star Wars fans will be pleased to know that last year’s Star Wars Run in Singapore has got a sequel planned.
Last year’s inaugural event debuted to much fanfare, with over 15,000 local and international participants marking the end of a three-day Star Wars celebration.
It also marked the start of a three-year collaboration between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia for Singapore to host Disney-themed events and activities.
The themed event divides runners between the Rebellion on the Light side or Darth Vader on the Dark side. Complete for glory in the 10km Competitive and run for fun in the 5.4km Non-Competitive categories. There’s also a limited slot 540m “Young Jedi Dash” for children between four to nine years old.
Both routes will feature engagement zones with music, light projections, and photo ops. There may be more surprises in tow (Chewbacca and Kylo Ren flagged off last year’s event), but you will have to be there to find out. Fans can even accessorize to look like their favorite Star Wars character, if they want.
Of course, no Star Wars Run is complete without some goodies. The 2018 race pack comes with limited edition Star Wars merchandise that include an event T-shirt, tote bag, and a picnic mat. Runners will also receive a finisher’s medal unique to their category and a finisher T-shirt.
The Star Wars Run Singapore 2018 happens May 5 at the Singapore F1 Pit Building.
May the Force be with you.
