South African Tourism (SAT) is hosting its second roadshow in Brazil and Argentina, offering destination training and showcasing a variety of high-quality products.
To celebrate a 128% and 91% increase in arrivals from Brazil and Argentina respectively in 2017, SAT is hosting the event from September 11-15 in partnership with SAA.
The roadshow is part of the South African Week in South America, which also includes SAA Meet Africa on September 19 in São Paulo.
This year’s roadshow will follow the speed marketing format, which aims to expose the maximum products in a short period of time.
SAT will also prepare a special training session, which will be presented by SAT’s specialists in Brazil, showing the most-visited regions in SA that have good touristic appeal to the South American markets.
Buyers invited to attend the event range from tour operators to travel agents interested in promoting the destination. Invitations are limited, and the event will host from 20 to 25 South African exhibitors who will present approximately 60 South African products.
“The spectacular growth in arrivals from Brazil and Argentina shows that, even facing a difficult moment in the economy, Brazilians and Argentinians are choosing South Africa as a holiday destination, mainly because of the air ticket prices and also because the South Americans are seeing good value for money on the destination” says Tatiana Isler, Country Manager of SAT in South America.
“South Africa is experiencing a boom again in the South American market: Latam has started operating the route GRU-JNB with direct impact on the cost of tickets. Consumers now can find promotions up to half the price when compared with little less than a year ago,” comments Marcelo Marques, Trade Relations Manager at SA Tourism in Brazil.
Confirmed dates for the event are as follows:
Curitiba, September 12, São Paulo, September 13 and Buenos Aires on September 15.
Some of the suppliers confirmed, to name a few are South African Airways; Newmark Hotels, Reserves & Lodges; Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve; Tsogo Sun; Sun International; Tourvest; Akilanga; Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group; Peermont; Saxon Hotel Villas & Spa; and Legacy Hotels.
