Marriott International has announced the appointment of Emmanuel Richardet as general manager of The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa Mauritius.
In his role as general manager, Richardet will oversee the management and operations of the 190 room, five-star resort on the tropical island of Mauritius.
Richardet moves to Mauritius having previously been general manager at the iconic Westin Vendôme located in the heart of the French capital, Paris, since 2014.
He began his career in Paris in 1986 and joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1989 as Clef d’Or Concierge at the then, Le Méridien Montparnasse Paris.
Mark Satterfield, chief operating officer Africa & Middle East & Africa, lodging services, Marriott International, commented: “Having served in key European markets, Emmanuel brings with him a wealth of resort experience and a strong understanding of the brand which I am sure will hold him in good stead and enable him to provide strategic and effective leadership to one of our most important leisure destinations in the region.”
Set over ten hectares and facing the quiet and calm Turtle Bay, The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa has been designed to embrace the natural beauty of the island’s unique scenery.
All rooms feature the latest in-room technology as well as the renowned Westin Heavenly Bed, complemented by rainforest shower and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities.

The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa was the third Marriott International hotel to open in Mauritius after the St. Regis Mauritius Resort, located on the beaches of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Le Morne, and Le Méridien Ile Maurice, situated on the Northwest coast bay of the fisherman village of Pointe Aux Piments.
The company also has two more hotels under development, Sheraton St. Felix and Aloft Port Louis making it one of the largest international hotel operators on the island.
