TO expand its network in Malaysia, Qatar Airways has signed an interline deal with Malaysia-based airline Malindo Air.
The new partnership means that passengers from Doha will be able to connect to 12 destinations across Malaysia via Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
In return, Malindo Air passengers will be offered single-ticket travel to more than 100 destinations across Qatar Airways’ network.
The Malay Mail Online reported that that enhanced connectivity is coupled with the convenience of a single reservation across both airlines networks thanks to a new bilateral interline agreement that has already taken effect.
“By partnering with carriers such as Malindo Air, Qatar Airways is able to expand its regional footprint and continue to drive passenger growth on our Malaysia route and within the ASEAN region,” said Qatar Airways’ group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker.
Meanwhile, Malindo Air CEO Chandran Rama Muthy said that the partnership would also give convenience for travellers from all corners of the globe to visit Malaysia.
“Our extensive network coverage in Malaysia will enhance the choice of travel destinations to Visit Malaysia for customers in both the business and leisure segments.”
