The rooms feature double-glazed acoustic windows; enhanced fire, security and safety systems in compliance with international standards; new high-speed lifts; energy efficient mood lighting; and modern air-conditioning systems.
The second phase of refurbishment, which commenced in September 2018, is taking place on the hotel’s south wing. It is expected to be completed by the second quarter of this year, when the full inventory of 199 rooms across a wide range of room types will be in operation. During construction, work will take place from 08h00 to 17h00 on weekdays and 09h00 to 13h00 on Saturdays with no activity scheduled for Sundays.
The second phase includes renovation of the hotel’s swimming pool. The work is anticipated to take four to six weeks and the pool will remain closed until February 8. During this period the hotel has made alternative arrangements for all guests wanting to swim. Details are provided at the front desk.
“We would like to assure all our guests, suppliers and stakeholders that disruption as a result of the expansion and refurbishment will be managed efficiently and sensitively to ensure that the products and services still meet our guests’ comfort and expectations during their visit to Nairobi Serena Hotel,” said the hotel in a statement.
