YOU can now book your Malaysia Airlines flights on Facebook.
Said to be a “travel buddy” that understands, the chatbot boasts features which enable passengers to make travel arrangements and pay through Facebook Messenger.
MHchat, which is part of the airline’s digital transformation strategy, is designed to mimic human conversation by using artificial intelligence.
Malaysia Airlines customers can use MHchat if they want to look up flights or enquire about a booking.
The chatbot will then search, locate, and push related offers or information.
Travelers can even complete a transaction, make a secure payment and receive the travel itinerary all within the same app.
And that is not all. The best part is the chatbot will be available online 24 hours a day.
Malaysia Airlines group chief executive officer Izham Ismail said the airline’s digital transformation strategy lies at the heart of the project.
“Customer experience is a key priority for Malaysia Airlines and we are deeply committed to constantly improving it,” he said.
“We look forward to further exploring how we can deliver more personalized and integrated services for our customers.”

Earlier this year, Singapore Airlines-owned low-cost airline Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd rolled out a transactional Facebook Messenger chatbot named M.A.R.V.I.E. – short for “Most Awesome and Resourceful Virtual Intern Ever”.
Like Malaysia Airlines’ MHchat, M.A.R.V.I.E. is able to assist customers to search for flights, display fares and availability, make flight bookings, and allow payment by credit card.
