Central African Wilderness Safaris Mvuu Lodge, situated in Malawi’s Liwonde National Park, will be constructing an additional star bed on the floodplains next year. The additional bed will be located on the south of the lodge at the edge of the riverine forest.
The Star Beds offer guests a “back to nature” experience with views of the floodplains opposite the Shire River.
The beds are elevated platforms, 12 feet above ground, that are equipped with a netted bed, seating area, a dining table and a hot water bucket shower and toilet. Guests are provided with a handheld radio to contact the main lodge at any time. All meals are served on the platform itself.
For two guests at a time, the Star Beds offer them the opportunity to spend a night out under the stars. The experience can be added onto a two or three day stay at Mvuu Lodge where guests can experience Liwonde National Park’s wildlife from a different perspective.
The Star Beds provide a 360-degree view of the park and front seat to all the wildlife activity that’s occurring on the floodplains.
