For the last couple of months we’ve been seeing elevated welcome offers on two business cards, the Delta Reserve for Business Credit Card and the Platinum Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card from American Express. These offers are slated to end on November 7th, so if you’ve been considering applying now is the perfect time.
The Delta Reserve Business Amex is the more premium card, and it’s currently offering an all-time high welcome bonus of 70,000 SkyMiles and 10,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles (MQMs) after spending $5,000 in the first three months. TPG values SkyMiles at 1.2 cents each, making these miles worth $840. If you’re making year-end plans to lock in your Delta elite status, the 10,000 MQMs can help put you over the edge. You can also earn an additional 15,000 MQMs and 15,000 redeemable miles (worth $180) when you spend $30,000 in a calendar year, and another 15,000 MQMs and redeemable miles when you spend $60,000.
The card comes with a $450 annual fee, but offers premium perks like complimentary access to Delta SkyClubs when flying Delta and an annual domestic companion certificate (just pay taxes and fees).
If you’re looking for a more moderate card, the Platinum Delta Business Amex is also offering an elevated welcome bonus of 50,000 SkyMiles (worth $600) and 10,000 MQMs after spending $3,000 in the first three months, plus a $100 statement credit when you make a Delta purchase in the first three months. We’ve seen higher offers on this card before, but the current welcome bonus is better than the normal 35,000 mile offer, especially when you add in the MQMs and $100 statement credit. The annual fee on the Platinum Delta Business Amex is a much more reasonable $195, and while it doesn’t offer lounge access, you will still get an annual companion certificate and the ability to earn bonus miles and MQMs through spending. Specifically, you’ll get 10,000 miles and 10,000 MQMs when you spend $25,000 in a calendar year, and another 10,000 each when you spend $50,000.
Amex welcome bonuses are generally limited to once per lifetime, so it’s important to make sure you get the highest bonus possible when applying. Amex also routinely offers elevated bonuses on both the personal and business Delta SkyMiles credit cards, so you’ll want to time your applications around them if possible. If you’re looking to top up your SkyMiles balance to take advantage of one of Delta’s flash award sales, or bump your elite status up before the end of the year, either one of these cards can help you out. Just make sure to apply before November 7th when the elevated offers end.
