The Jakarta Post quoted AP II president director Muhammad Awaluddin as saying that following the new arrangement, Terminal 2, which could accommodate up to 10 million passengers, would only cater to domestic and Umrah pilgrimage flights.

The airport’s Terminal 3, which began operating in March 2016, was built at the cost of IDR4.7 trillion (US$450 million) terminal and could handle 25 million passengers a year.
According to The Straits Times, Terminal 3 has a state-of-the-art automated baggage handling system featuring at least 13 conveyor belts, 206 check-in counters, and 38 self-check-in and 12 bag drop counters, which help with swift clearance and shorter queues.
The airport is also linked to commuter trains which ferry passengers to the city in less than an hour.
