TORONTO — G Adventures has launched a collection of tours that highlight special events around the globe.
The Limited Edition program offers trips centered around annual festivals and events like Haitian Carnival,
Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica, Pizzafest in Italy, longboat races in Cambodia and Halloween at Bran Castle in Romania.
The program’s 32 tours combine existing special event trips with newly created tours, designed to get travelers more immersed in a country by delivering experiences unique to a place and its people, G Adventures said.
G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip said that the collection enables the company to offer its guests boutique experiences.
“In small group adventure, even though it’s a niche space, we’re very large in our space,” he said. “We didn’t want to forget our roots of showing people some of the most unique corners of the world.”
The collection is also intended to make it easier for travel agents, who account for 70% of G Adventures’ sales, to find special event trips in one place, as opposed to searching through destinations.
“We want to give them the power to sell unique and cool stuff too,” Poon Tip said. “We want them to be able to sit in front of their clients and offer the Naadam Festival [in Mongolia] and the monarch butterfly migration [in Mexico]. Unique, cool stuff that makes them look good.”
