Food, Food, Glorious Food! TravelManagers Donate 300 plus cans to Exodus Foundation’s Christmas Can Drive
Christmas this year was a little brighter for some of Sydney’s homeless and those in need thanks to TravelManagers, who collectively donated over 300 cans of food to Sydney’s Exodus Foundation’s Christmas can drive.
TravelManagers’ BSP & Supplier Relations Executive Sandra Reucker was overwhelmed by the fantastic response she received from fellow national partnership office and Hoot Holidays teams. ”
We donated 20 full bags of canned goods which included items of request such as casseroles, spaghetti, baked beans, tuna and pasta. It was so heart-warming to see such a fantastic response from the TravelManagers and Hoot Holidays’ teams,” says Reucker.
This is the third year TravelManagers and Hoot Holidays has supported the Exodus Foundation who put together food parcels for families in need and also help to feed the homeless who live on the streets of Sydney.
Reucker’s motivation to help was born from the realization that for some Australian’s, it is a real struggle to provide food for their families.
“I saw a television documentary three years ago about Reverend Bill Crews and how the Exodus Foundation support needy families. It really saddened me and made me realise how lucky most of us are not to be in that situation.
It was at that moment I knew I wanted to help and with the support of my colleagues we have – for the last three years we have collectively donated a significant amount of cans for their annual Christmas can drive.”
In addition to the individual members of the national partnership office and Hoot Holidays providing donations, TravelManagers’ as a company donated to the collection as well.
“The strongest message for TravelManagers is the culture of our business and our desire to give back to the community.
The opportunity for our team to do something that benefits those in need within our local community mirrors our business philosophy of going the extra mile.
That really sums up the culture of TravelManagers and we are extremely proud of that,” says TravelManagers Executive General Manager Michael Gazal.
The Exodus Foundation supports those in need not only at Christmas time but 365 days a year.
