The Department of Tourism, in partnership with the City of Ekurhuleni will host a business expo to showcase the services and initiatives under the Enterprise Development and Support Programme.
The expo will take place at Emperors Palace in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, on February 16, starting at 09h00.
The initiative aims to ensure the sustainability of SMMEs in the sector.
Deputy Minister, Elizabeth Thabethe will open the one-day expo, which will feature presentations from various organisations, exhibitions, as well as one-on-one consultations with government and financial entities.
The goal of the Department of Tourism is for entrepreneurs to leave the expo with skills and information needed to succeed in the tourism industry.
Guests will be welcomed at 09h00 by Mzwandile Masina, Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, and at 09h15 Deputy Director-General: Tourism Sector Support Services for the Department of Tourism, Morongoe Ramphele, will outline the day’s programme, followed by Lebogang Maile, Member of the Executive Council of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development. Minister Thabethe will give the keynote address at 09h45, followed by Phindile Mbanjwa, Head of Department for Gauteng Department of Economic Development, who will give a vote of thanks. At 10h20 there will be an exhibition walkabout by dignitaries.
