Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
Yesterday Delta offered a great low fare from East Coast cities to Zurich, with flights as low as $324 nonstop from New York. While many of those Zurich flights are still available as of this writing, today the airline has expanded their lower prices to include more destinations in Europe and more departure points in the United States.
At the cheapest end, you can find flights from Boston to Brussels, Belgium as low as $326 in April and May, or to Amsterdam for $389 for May and June. If you’re located in the middle of the country, there are Dallas departures to Milan, Italy for $423, or from the south you’ll find flights from Miami for $447. The most expensive fares originate from the West Coast, with Los Angeles to Munich, Germany pricing at $483 and Seattle to Munich for $461.
Note that while all these fares will price higher on Google Flights, you can get the lower price by booking at Priceline, which also offers 24-hour cancellation if you change your mind in the first day after booking. Also, remember that while some other discount online travel agencies (OTAs) may show even lower prices on these routes, many of the ultra-cheap options require long layovers, multiple stops or even a change of airport.
