The City of Cape Town has agreed to expand Cape Town Tourism’s service level agreement (SLA) for another year.
The mutually beneficial partnership between the City of Cape Town and the organisation to produce tangible benefits for the local tourism industry and City is due to ongoing success and positive development in the areas of responsibility.
The agreement has led to collaborative projects, specifically within the areas of responsible tourism, universal access in tourism, visitor safety and in counteracting seasonality within the sector, in addition to the primary responsibilities of tourism marketing and visitor services.
This means marketing the city’s attractions, experiences, accommodation and the Capetonians, across various platforms including digital, social and traditional media.
Cape Town Tourism represents the city at trade shows and on other trade marketing platforms, to showcase what is on offer and to attract more visitors. This, with a view to expanding the market locally, regionally and globally to key source markets, such as the US, Europe, the Middle East and Far East, as well as the rest of Africa. This includes promoting Cape Town as a destination and also identifying opportunities and potential partnerships.
Cape Town Tourism is a membership organisation, comprising almost 1 300 member businesses. The organisation also conducts extensive research into the economic value of tourism as well as visitor perceptions.
