Kyle Mabry is the new head vice president of global sales at American Airlines.
Mabry is assuming many of the responsibilities that had been held by Alison Taylor, who was promoted in June from senior vice president of global sales and distribution to her current position as chief customer officer.
In his new position, Mabry leads the airline’s units that are charged with sales strategies. Those units also handle American’s engagement with travel agencies and the carrier’s corporate, leisure and small and medium business customers.
Mabry previously held the title of global head of leisure, groups and middle-market sales for American.
“Kyle brings a rare combination of outstanding industry knowledge, business acumen and genuine care for customers and team members,” Taylor said in a statement.
Neil Geurin, American’s managing director of digital and distribution, took over Taylor’s distribution portfolio. The promotion of Mabry will free Taylor to focus more on the rest of American’s customer organization, including the marketing and customer experience team and the reservation team, spokeswoman Rachel Warner said.
Mabry, as well as Geurin, will continue to report to Taylor.
