Airlink says it will accommodate SA Express customers who have been affected by the suspension of its operations and has announced additional reductions in capacity.
SA Express ticket holders wishing to travel on Airlink must first contact SA Express to have their ticket reissued. The affected routes include Johannesburg to Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Hoedspruit, Gaborone and Walvis Bay.
Additionally, the airline says it will suspend flights between Durban and Nelspruit and Durban and Bloemfontein due to low demand. Tickets issued for travel between March 18 and September 30 are subject to one free date change.
The Durban-George and Johannesburg-Phalaborwa routes will be permanently cancelled, with immediate effect. A statement says the original date was set for June 10 but the national COVID-19 crisis moved the date forward.
Customers holding confirmed tickets will be offered a full refund. Phalaborwa customers can alternatively opt for re-accommodation on Airlink’s Hoedspruit services operating from Johannesburg or Cape Town.
