FOR the fourth consecutive year, Air New Zealand was named “airline of the year” by global safety and products ratings agency AirlineRatings.com.
AirlineRatings.com editor-in-chief Geoffrey Thomas, said, “In our objective analysis, Air New Zealand came out number one in virtually all of our audit criteria, which is an exceptional performance.”

Meanwhile, the “best first class category” went to Etihad for the third time in a row, an unbeatable force in the industry.

Singapore Airlines – what’s known as one of the world’s best airlines among frequent flyers – snagged the title of “best economy class”.
In the other categories, Virgin Australia won “best cabin crew”, Qantas won the titles of “best catering” and “best lounges”, Emirates claimed “best in-flight entertainment”, and Garuda Indonesia won the honor of “most improved airline”.
