The MSC Opera is sailing with passengers again, following the cruise ship’s June 2 accident in Venice.
The 2,150-passenger ship collided with Uniworld’s River Countess and scraped alongside a pier after a technical issue left it unable to stop in time to avoid impact.
After repairing minor damage on the Opera, MSC had to cancel a scheduled June 8 departure because authorities weren’t finished investigating the accident.
The MSC Opera resumed cruising on June 14 “and is now sailing her usual seven-night itinerary as per her original schedule,” an MSC Cruises spokeswoman said.
