South Africa will be presenting 50 tourism products and services, including small tourism businesses and emerging entrepreneurs from across nine provinces, at ITB Berlin this year.
The small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are being subsidised by the SA government through the Department of Tourism, giving the smaller tourism players the opportunity to connect with top decision-makers and experts from across the globe.
“Europe is a key region for us,” said SA Tourism CEO, Sisa Ntshona. “Visibility of our unique and authentic brand experiences at ITB Berlin is integral. While forming meaningful connections and engagements with trade who are our key partners in helping sell South Africa, and with recent announcements around revised immigration regulations, there has never been a better time to convince the world that we are indeed open for business and ready to welcome tourists from all over the world.”
Ntshona said ITB was an incredible platform to bolster South Africa’s marketing efforts as the country positioned itself as not only a safe, affordable, value-for-money destination for any tourist, but also as one that offered a number of breath-taking experiences.
“We are going to ITB to continue our message to the world and to showcase a more equitable spread of our country’s tourism offering (all nine provinces),” concluded Ntshona.
