Perched on Chittar Hill in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a state in the northwestern region of India, the Umaid Bhawan Palace is a magnificent piece of Rajasthan’s heritage.
Built between 1928 and 1943, the palace was constructed using palm court marble, the same stone that the Taj Mahal is built from.
It was home to the former Jodhpur royal family, the last of the great palaces of India and one of the largest private residences in the world.
The palace complex is set amidst 25 acres of lush gardens featuring vibrant peacocks and a subterranean Zodiac Pool while its interior is decked in the finest example of art deco design.

Aside from its maze of heritage and memories, one of its most important attractions is the interior dome, which sits above the sky blue inner dome.
If you are particularly curious about the days gone by, the Umaid Bhavan Palace holds royal artifacts and personal collection of the kings like vintage clock collections, ancient photographs of the palace, classic cars of the king, porcelain wares, memorabilia, mural paintings, and miniature paintings.
